And, thank my band mates for taking the reigns.

IRMA MAY PROVOST DUNAWAY
Irma and her twin brother, Herman (Buddy) were born to Louis & Ruth Alberta Watson Provost on November 15, 1922. At the onset of WWII, she wanted to follow in her beloved brother's footsteps. Not weighing enough for the Marines, she enlisted in the Coast Guard. This pretty, young girl from Massachusetts fell in love with a handsome, young farm boy from Columbia, Mississippi standing in the chow line in San Diego, CA. Both love-struck, she thought he looked like Big Band Leader, Bob Crosby, and he thought she had trim ankles "like a race horse," and must be a good dancer…it was a Mason-Dixon romance destined to endure the test of time.

"A real Lady," 84 years young, affectionately called "Ruby," will be honored for her zest for life, and devout love for her family. Her life was characterized by her generosity; there was no "out-giving" her. Funny! --Her wonderful sense of humor, her laughter. --Scrappy, testy, staunch in her politics. --Her inspirational love for music and dance…Sublime. She was the #1 fan of all her kids, down to the 3rd generation. Proud! A "Show and Tell" opportunist! Always with a wallet full of pictures and a story to tell. Excellence was her creed, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest, till your good is better and your better is best." She was her family's historian. Hundreds of hours of recordings of her musician children. Hundreds of hours of video footage of her great-grand daughter's beautiful dance. Thousands of pictures... She was a "do-er." --A traditional homemaker… Immaculate "Eat off her floors" clean. Beautiful. --Always so well-groomed. Active. --There was no slowing her down...

Her courage and strong resolve to battle lung cancer with surgery and chemo therapy was no less than heroic. Recent congestive heart failure/pneumonia, immediately followed by emergency major surgery two weeks ago made her challenge to rebound insurmountable. With profound grief, her loved ones remained close at her bedside until she passed away March 9th at Baptist Medical South, where she received the most vigilant and compassionate care by all the Staff so committed to her recovery (Thank You All).

Irma's memory will lovingly be kept alive by her devoted husband of more than 62 years, (Ret.) USCG Master Chief James M. Dunaway, and their Children: Don & Sandra Oja-Dunaway, Diane Dunaway, Dan & Sharon Dunaway Pillen, Barry & Lydia Joiner Dunaway; Grandchildren: Jim & Melinda Dunaway Morrow, Micah and Martin Oja-Dunaway, Valerie and Wesley Pond, Brandon Dunaway, Charlie & Jaime Leigh Fox Ringlein, Kyle and Toby Fox; Great-grand daughter, Dawn Morrow; Extended family in St. Augustine: Norman & Marcia Oja, and Betty Joiner. She loved her grand-dogs: Noggin, Daisy, and Bardock, and her grand-cats: Duke & Newt, Izzie & Zak, Trixie & Mittens, and Peach.

Mrs. Dunaway, (Aunt) Irma, Mom, Ruby, Mombo, Mama, Grama is going to be missed, but remembered with the deepest love, affection, and appreciation. Flowers will be graciously received because she loved them so much. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given to the cancer foundation of your choice in memory of her.

Also would like to thank Bank of America and Mobil.

1-13-07 Daytona - We played in the Fan Zone.  It was for the truck driver fans this year.  The first set was a little rough (the trucks were still testing).  But, by the second set they were done and we rocked.  After we packed up, they were offering 4 laps out on the track.  Walt, Jacob, Barry and Woody took a ride.  They said it was an amazing experience.  Dave and Aaron passed, they were afraid they would scream like little girls around 130 miles an hour in the straight away.
